And in the midst of reading the long GP content package, I wanna share something about Faith.
From Hebrews 11, I learnt about the sacrifice of faith (Abel), walk of faith (Enoch) and work of faith (Noah).
So Abel, by Faith, offered a more worthy sacrifice and he died, killed by his bro Cain. Why did God accept Abel's sacrifice? Some said he had more faith in preparing that sacrificial animal, others said because it was a blood sacrifice. There is no real conclusion to this but nonetheless, Abel was a man of faith who was sacrificed.
The Bible did not mention Enoch much, these 2 are the few verses in the Bible regarding Enoch: Hebrews 11:5-6, By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Enoch must have been such a faithful man, that God did not want him to experience death and translated him to heaven. Enoch was mentioned again in Jude 1:14-15 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. This showed that he pleased God and is a man of faith and we should learn from him.
Noah showed us the work of faith. At his time, I do not believe that a flood had occurred before, or whether rain had fallen before, that is why the people did not believe him when he told them about a possibility of a flood. He, through faith, although not knowing what was a flood, spent approx 100 years to build an ark, with specific measurements God provided to him. Isn't it amazing that he trusted God so much that something that had never happened could happen? We too, should trust God in a similar way. We now have the full Bible, we know that the second coming of Christ will be soon, but what are we doing now in this wicked world? Are we always resting on our laurels and doing the things of the world? We should be glorifying God instead and spreading the Gospel. We ought to be like Abel,Enoch and Noah who were men of faith.
Matthew 24:37-39
But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For those who are taking the A levels, we should put our faith entirely in God, for he has mapped out our future and we should accept whatever he will be giving to us (our grades, university admissions). This is the best outcome he has chosen for us. Now we should not think so much but do this A levels for the glorification of God. Here are some verses for you...
Psalms 27:13-14
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Jeremiah 33:3
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
Yup so press on and pray to God, keep close to him during this A levels, also for the rest of our lives. We tend to drift away from God when we do not have trials, thus we should make an effort not to, and do all things for God.
