LIVESTRONG

I read an interesting article today from the New York Times titled "How a Soccer Star Is Made" Source: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/06/magazine/06Soccer-t.html

I play recreational soccer too and I'm personally very interested in the whole soccer world. So I just got this NYT app on my iTouch and started reading this article. It compares the Ajax youth academy and the ones in other countries, it states that the Ajax academy's training style is focused on aspects like skills, with professionals pinpointing and perfecting the individual's aspects of the game, like running. However, the ones in USA are formed around the team and the Brazilian youngsters just play kickabout soccer in the streets. The passion of these kids made me ask myself whether I should play competitive football or at least join a recreational club.

Anyway, I watched a movie called Tears of the Sun today, was rather boring imo. Seems like a copy of Rambo 4 but without the all-conquering, solo Rambo, which is pretty cool to watch. I've also picked up a book named "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham, have to start reading it soon in this holidays, while I prepare myself for the dreaded common tests.
